The Sounds of an Opener
After years of opening and closing a garage door, you should be familiar with what it sounds like. Does it sound like that now? Listen closely for louder than normal sounds or other ones that are out of place like screeching or grinding. Even if your opener isn’t completely broken, out of place sounds can be the first warning sign that it is coming.
Opener Working, but the Door Won’t Budge?
If your garage door isn’t opening no matter what button you push, listen to see if your opener is at least trying. If it is making noises and trying to open the door, then the issue may not be the garage door opener, but rather another facet of the garage door itself.
